PORTUGAL, 870 reis, Maria II, crowned-arms countermark (1834) on a Cuzco, Peru, bust 8 reales, Ferdinand VII, 1824 T, very rare, ex-Brameld. Gomes-unl (Type 29); KM-unl (440 for type). 26.96 grams. Bold and deep XF countermark on neck of bust of richly toned Fine host with weak rims (as made) from the scarce one-year Cuzco mint issue (KM-117.2), this combination unlisted in references and we cannot trace another example. Pedigreed to the David Brameld Collection.
