PERU, Lima, ¼ real, Ferdinand VII, 1821, recut 2 in date, NGC MS 62 (EMO Collection Label), ex-Whittier, EMO Plate. EMO-508.1; Cal-272; KM-108. Choice strike with exceptionally full and bold rims and satin-smooth fields, faint traces of toning over lustrous surfaces, second highest grade in the NGC census. Pedigreed to the Whittier Collection (stated on label) and to the EMO collection, plated on page 246 of his book, Spanish Colonial and Republican Cuartillos of the New World, Vol I (2020).
