PERU, Lima, pillar 8 reales, Charles III, 1764 JM, no dot over right mintmark, with chopmarks, rare, ex-Brameld. Yonaka-L8.64; Cal-unl (cf 1024); KM-A64.2. 26.95 grams. Bold VF with contrasting toning around details, bubbly texture on shield side, hairlined fields on pillars side, several small chops (mostly hidden letters) including an odd "=" below V of VNUM, rated as rare in Yonaka. (Note: Calicó does not differentiate the mintmark varieties for this type.). Pedigreed to the David Brameld Collection.
