PERU, Lima, pillar 8 reales, Charles III, 1760 JM. Yonaka-L8.60c; KM-A64.1; Cal-1019. 26.91 grams. AU details with practically no surface corrosion, small void in rim below date that might be as made, some light toning, overall a choice shipwreck piece and rather rare from this wreck, from which the salvors found only about thirty pillar dollars. Pedigreed to the Steve Valentine Collection, with original certificate from the salvor/conservator. Recovered from: Grosvenor, sunk in 1782 off South Africa
