PERU, Lima, gold cob 8 escudos, 1725 M, (Louis I), rare, PCGS XF details / mount removed. S-L28a; KM-40; Cal-62; Fr-11. 26.89 grams. Bright yellow color with full cross-lions-castles and nearly full pillars-and-waves but struck slightly off-center, unfortunately putting the king's name and ordinal and bottom-left portion of pillars side off the flan, clear smoothing on edge from jewelry extrication, still an important and popular one-year type (posthumous Louis I).
