PERU, Lima, gold bust 8 escudos, Ferdinand VI, 1756 JM, rare, PCGS MS61, finest known in PCGS census. Cal-771; KM-59.1; Fr-20. This beautiful coin is almost perfect in every way: fully detailed strike without any adjustment marks or weakness, including unblemished full rims, rich gold color with ample original luster, just with too many light hairlines in the fields to garner a higher MS grade, nevertheless the top grade at either PCGS or NGC and in our opinion the finest known in terms of strike and overall quality for this date within the rare second "wigged bust" type from Lima.
