PERU, Lima, cob 8 reales, Philip II, assayer Diego de la Torre, *-oD to left, P-8 (round top) to right, ex-Ugaz, ex-von Schuckmann, ex-Sellschopp (Plate). S-L4; KM-14; Cal-657. 27.03 grams. Well-toned XF with choice full interior details and nearly full legends and crown, traces of doubling but very bold *-oD to left, a scarce variety that Sellschopp considered to be the final type for this assayer. Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz Collection, the von Schuckmann Collection (Renaissance auction of December 2001, lot 3170), and the Sellschopp Collection (Swiss Bank Corp. auction of October 1988, lot 139), also Plate Coin 129 in his book Las acuñaciones de las cecas de Lima, La Plata y Potosí (1971).
