PERU, Lima, cob 8 reales, 1736 N, re-punched 36 in date, cross-of-five-dots at top, ex-Ugaz. S-L21; KM-34a; Cal-1311. 27.10 grams. Well-centered pillars and cross within flat peripheries, AVF with contrasting toning, scarce date (apparently the first example we have offered at auction), decidedly not 1736/5 (which is known) but with clearly re-cut date. Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz Collection and the Almanzar auction of May 1977 (lot 1332).
