PERU, Lima, cob 8 reales, 1730 N, cross-of-five-dots at top, rare, PCGS XF40, finest and only example in PCGS census, ex-Ugaz, ex-Rutherford. S-L21; KM-34a; Cal-1304. 26.72 grams. Choice, full and bold pillars-and-waves and cross-lions-castles with two dates and mintmarks and assayers, nicely toned on fields, a great coin for the type and surely the finest known for this rare date (none at NGC, and apparently the first example we have ever offered at auction). Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz Collection and the S.P. Rutherford Collection (stated on label).
