PERU, Lima, 4R-sized proclamation medal, Charles IV, 1790, Huancavelica, very rare, PCGS MS62, ex-Pat Johnson. Fonrobert-9244; Medina-177; Herrera-153. 36 mm. Deeply toned with some auburn luster in legends, rather attractive and problem-free. This type is a proclamation of loyalty to the new king (whose portrait looks more like Charles III) in the city and region of Huancavelica and not (as usually mis-cataloged) a commemorative for the yield of the Huancavelica mercury mine. Pedigreed to the Pat Johnson Collection (stated on label).
