PANAMA, proof set of five denominations (1c, 5c; 1/10, ¼, ½ balboa), 1962, very rare, NGC-graded, all but one "top pop." KM-PS3. According to KM, only about 25 of these sets were issued (with another 25 of the 1c issued separately), and to our knowledge this is the finest complete set, with all but one of the coins certified as either finest or tied for finest in the NGC census, as follows:

½ balboa (silver), KM-12.2, NGC PF 67 Cameo (8439964-001), finest known
¼ balboa (silver), KM-11.2, NGC PF 66 (8439964-002), finest known
1/10 balboa (silver), KM-10.2, NGC PF 66 Cameo (8439964-003), "top pop" (tied with two others)
5 centésimos (copper-nickel), KM-23.2, NGC PF 66 Cameo (8439964-004), second finest behind a single PF 67
1 centésimo (bronze), KM-22, NGC PF 66 RB (8439964-005), "top pop" (tied with three others)

All have highly reflective surfaces with little or no evidence of handling, the ¼ balboa lightly gold-toned and the 5c also with a streak of light gold color across middle, while the 1c exhibits bright red splashes around amber-aqua centers.

A unique opportunity for the specialist in modern Panama issues.
