Ornate, skull-shaped clay pipe with cuprous stem, 1600s-1700s. 39 grams. Roughly 2½" long x 1¾" tall. Just about the most interesting clay pipe ever, with fully intact bowl, albeit lightly stained, in the design of a complete skull, joined to the stem with a leaf design, the copper connector green and crusty from salvage. With photo-certificate, pedigreed to Sedwick Auction 9, with original lot-tag 1972.
