Orange-glazed clay porringer bowl, nearly intact, ex-pirate ship Golden Fleece (1686). 254 grams. roughly 6" x 2". A type of bowl known as a "porringer," used for soups and stews, with two small handles at top (this example missing one handle) and flat bottom, lovely white-painted spiral in middle amidst a background of orange, bits of encrustation on the underside. From the pirate ship Golden Fleece (1686), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic.
