Neatly formed Dutch silver ingot, 1951 grams, about 98.5% fine, stamped with Zeeland/Middelburg chamber mark z/VOC/m) and assayer-mark F-E flanking lily inside incuse shield for Francois Engelsen Jr., ex-Bredenhof (1753). 5-3/4" x 1-1/2" x 1-1/4". Typical VOC ingot, very neatly cast in a perfectly rectangular mold with one end open, that end showing just a small pit surrounded by clean chiselings from its time to fine-tune the weight, one of the lateral sides showing very bold and deep markings at the other end, beautifully toned all over, practically no corrosion. From the Bredenhof (1753), with original (generic) certificate from the salvagers.
