NETHERLANDS (United), Utrecht, "lion" daalder, 1617, very rare provenance, ex-Sebring. Dav-4863; KM-13. 26.81 grams. Solid coin with no corrosion (just a few small scrapes) and nicely toned, all inner details and legends clear, important as from a very rare wreck and with desirable pedigree. Note: The Sebring Collection catalog erroneously calls the mint Overijssel, and certificate calls it "Gelders," whereas the coin clearly shows TRA for TRAJECTUM (Latin for Utrecht). Pedigreed to the Tom Sebring Collection (American Numismatic Rarities auction of January 2004, lot 1602) and to the Christie's (Amsterdam) auction of March 1983, also to Sedwick Auction 17, with original lot-tag 367, with original certificate and copy of Sebring lot description. Recovered from: Piet Heyn's Hollandia, sunk in 1627 in the Bay of All Saints, Brazil
