NETHERLANDS (United), Holland, gold ducat, 1736, very rare provenance, NGC MS 62 (Shipwreck Blue Label), finest known in NGC census. Delm-775; Fr-250; KM-12.2. Choice bold strike with full details, smooth and lustrous fields, rich gold color, but also important as one of only two or three ducats from this uncommon shipwreck. Pedigreed to the Sotheby & Co. (London) auction of November 1973 (lot 22), with original catalog for that auction signed by the salvor (Robert Sténuit), also pedigreed to Sedwick Auction 15, with original lot-tag 132. Recovered from: Wendela, sunk in 1737 off the Shetland Isles, north of Scotland
