Mexico City, Mexico, pillar 2 reales, Ferdinand VI, 1754/3M. KM-unl (86.1 for type); CT-unl. 6.68 grams. Lustrous and beautifully rainbow-toned AU with small spot of discoloration above crown. Gilboy-unlisted, Yonaka-M2-54a (S). As explained in Yonaka, the overdate is difficult to see in lower grades, which is "why such a relatively common overdate has gone unlisted until now" (but see next lot). Pedigreed to the Potomac collection of Mexican pillars.
