Mexico City, Mexico, cob ½ real, Philip V, assayer not visible, possible contemporary counterfeit. 0.8 gram. Full monogram and cross with slightly incorrect details (note the dots border and tressure, also the style of the monogram and cat-like lions), but had to have been made around the time of genuine examples to have come from the Fleet, no corrosion, nicely toned, fascinating specimen. Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, east coast of Florida. With Cobb Coin Co. (Fisher) tag #BRAN86CAB-004 and generic certificate.
