Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer not visible, with crystallized canvas covering cross side, desirable pedigree. KM-45. 25.4 grams. Solid but dark as uncleaned (full shield clear), which is understandable because cleaning would remove the intact (dark) cloth covering the cross side. From the Concepcion, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola, with tag and original Christensen lot-envelope.
