Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer not visible, rare error with shield side struck from 4R die (denomination visible), desirable pedigree. KM-45. 25.8 grams. Solid, roundish flan with good full shield and very clear and bold denomination 4, nice full cross, richly toned and corrosion-free. From the Concepcion, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola, with tag and original Christensen lot-envelope.
