Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer D, ex-"Lucayan Beach wreck" (ca. 1628), mounted shield-side out in silver bezel with 14K gold prongs and bail with silver chain (19"). 38.20 grams total, the box 3-1/4" x 2-1/2". Simple bezel around solid coin with nearly full shield, corroded cross, some flat areas, lightweight chain, desirable original box. From the "Lucayan Beach wreck" (ca. 1628), with original box from 1960s Spink promotion plus certificate.
