Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 reales, Charles II, assayer not visible, struck from 4R dies and cut down. KM-46. 18.1 grams. Curious coin that at first appears to be a 4R (most of shield and cross, with flat peripheries) but the weight is too high and the edges all appear to have been cut down before the sinking, nicely toned and corrosion-free. From the Feversham, sunk in 1711 off Nova Scotia, Canada.
