Mexico City, Mexico, cob 8 reales, (17)01L, clear date (very rare), interesting shape, Lane pedigree. S-M21CT-301. 26.8 grams. Very strange shape (sort of rectangular with 4 points), full 01 of date and oM mintmark, some shield and cross but mostly flat (as usual), lightly corroded, important old pedigree. Pedigreed to the W.H. Lane & Son auction of November 1979 (lot #134) and accompanied by an original Lane certificate (gold). Recovered from: Association, sunk in 1707 off the Scilly Isles, southwest of England
