Mexico City, Mexico, cob 4 reales, Philip V, assayer not visible, with countermark "Sumenep" in Malay Arabic script in box plus cross-in-circle countermark on reverse for circulation on Madura Island, Indonesia (1/2 real batu, 1814), NGC VG details / chopmarked, graffiti, c/s XF strong. Host KM-40a. (Weight not specified.) Fascinating coin with full and clear Sumenep countermark at top-left of cross and cross-in-circle countermark (called a chopmark by NGC) at bottom-right, light Malay script graffiti on both sides, toned all over. Pedigreed to the Clyde Hubbard Collection, with his original tag/envelope and to the Ponterio Auction of May 1988, with original lot-tag 209. Please use this link to verify the certification number
