Mexico City, Mexico, bust 4 escudos, Philip V, 1739MF, ex-Eliasberg, rare. CT-243; KM-135. 13.5 grams. Richly old-toned XF+ with minor (old) marks in fields, very nice (sharp) strike and attractive overall, also desirable pedigree. Curiously, the reverse of this coin shows the same shield design as for the pillar dollars in silver (except for the legend), lending credence to the idea that the pillars side on pillar dollars is the obverse. Pedigreed to the Eliasberg collection.
