Mexico City, Mexico, 4 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Late Series," assayer G to left, mintmark M to right (G-M), NGC AU 55. Nesmith-46c type; Cal-128; S-M5; KM-18. 13.42 grams. Deeply toned on a broad flan (some extra metal outside the design area), full legends and details, unusual ending of banner between pillars showing TR instead of TRA, probably from the "Golden Fleece wreck" (ca. 1550). NGC #6448110-022. Pedigreed to the Clyde Hubbard Collection of Mexican Charles-Joanna Coinage (stated on label). Accompanied by original tag or holder from Clyde Hubbard.
