Mexico City, Mexico, 4 reales, Charles-Joanna, "Early Series," assayer P to right, mintmark M to left (oMo-oPo). Nesmith 26 for type; Cal-123; S-M4; KM-17. 13.25 grams. Perfectly round flan with full inner details and legend and crown, lightly struck VF+ with low-contrast toning. This is a later issue from this assayer with HISPANIARVM in the pillars legend and the use of lozenges between words. Pedigreed to the Robert W. Hoge Collection, acquired from William Rosenblum in May 2006.
