Mexico City, Mexico, 1/2 real, "Early Series," assayer F to right of monogram, extremely rare. N-13; S-M3; CT-172. 1.3 grams. Monogram side with oMo-oFo; pillars side with left-leaning rhomboid panel. Somewhat crudely struck, with weak assayer, but 100% identifiable and with parts of legends bold, Fine overall with some toning around details. This assayer is highly sought for its rarity, and in fact this 1/2R specimen is one of only 3 known to us. Pedigreed to our Auction #1, lot 350.
