Medellin, Colombia (struck in Paris), silver specimen pattern (essai) for gold 2-1/2 pesos, 1923, reeded edge, rare, PCGS SP 63, finest and only example in PCGS census. Restrepo-136 (p. 256). A silver pattern for the standard issue in gold (Restrepo-452) but with ESSAI stamped into the obverse below the chin, boldly struck with decent luster mostly coated with dark toning on reverse and around the letters on obverse. PCGS #84929508. Pedigreed to the Eldorado collection (Stacks Bowers auction of August 2018, with original lot-tag 42284).
