Medellin, Colombia, specimen piefort pattern 10 centavos, 1915, reeded edge, rare, PCGS SP 62, finest known in PCGS census. Restrepo-110 (p. 255). Bold and lustrous, with light colorful toning, a few small marks and perhaps once lightly polished, a double-thickness essai for an unadopted Medellin type similar to the Bogota issue that began in 1911 (Restrepo-377), with ENSAYO on the obverse. PCGS #85757855. Pedigreed to the Eldorado collection (Stacks Bowers auction of August 2018, with original lot-tag 42277) and to the Baldwin's auction of May 1994 (lot 408).
