Matte silver-plated bronze medal made by artist Lorenzo Homar (1913-2004) in 1993 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Puerto Rico, one of only 100 made, commissioned by noted collector Efrain Archilla-Diez. 311.7 grams. Modern, artistic medal in pristine condition, with lion motif in high relief on front (signed by the artist at bottom), flat reverse with incuse wording "5to. Centenario del Descubrimiento de Puerto Rico 1493-1993". Lorenzo Homar (1913-2004) is considered by many to be Puerto Rico's greatest graphic artist.
