Mahogany stool made with wood from the Commodore wreck (1866), with Christmas day gift note from 1906. 2131 grams; 18" x 8-5/8" x 9". Sturdy bench in good condition with minimal wear and marks. Note on bottom reads "This stool made from a piece of Mahogany that came from the wreck of the Steamer Commodore that came ashore at Peconic on night of December 28th, 1866. Made and presented to Ellis Francis Billard by his Grandfather, G.J. Terry. December 25th 1906."
