Madrid, Spain, bust 1/2 escudo, Philip V, 1743JA, inside the bowl of a silver tastevin (wine-sampling scoop) with horn handle. CT-573; KM-361.1. 39 grams, 13" long. A rather curious antique, with long, delicate handle, half-twisted, and simple round bowl, used by a sommelier to sample wine, with the coin mounted obverse-up and no worse than VF for actual wear. (Note KM erroneously lists the assayer as JF for this scarce type.)
