MEXICO, Mexico City, pillar 8 reales, Philip V, 1746 MF, with Brahman bull in floral wreath countermark for Nepal(?) on shield side, ex-Brameld. Host: Yonaka-M8.46; Cal-1472; KM-103. Problem-free VF host with nicely contrasting toning, the countermark very full and well-detailed, possibly a private commission or application for validation (the Nepal attribution just a guess based on style), no provenance beyond the collection name, but clearly an old and well-executed countermark, here offered as a genuine coin only (independent review encouraged), an intriguing piece to be sure. Accompanied by an NGC "no decision" label. Pedigreed to the David Brameld Collection.
