MEXICO, Mexico City, pillar 8 reales, Charles III, 1770 FM/MF, very rare. Yonaka-M8.70c; Cal-1100; KM-105. 25.52 grams. AU details with intact rims, toning in crevices, light surface corrosion, but important to the pillar dollar specialist for the near-unique over-assayer (so rare that Yonaka could only locate two examples). Pedigreed to the Steve Valentine Collection, with original certificate from the salvor/conservator. Recovered from: Grosvenor, sunk in 1782 off South Africa
