Obverse with busts of king and queen above G*A*GIL* inside legend * REGI * MAX * CAROLO * IIII * OPT * QUE * REGINAE * ALOISIAE *; reverse with seated Minerva holding lance and shield inside legend IN * SOLEM * INAUG * MEX * ACAD * EXC * CUR * AN • 1790 •, with GIL in exergue. some original luster and red color. Nice UNC example of this popular medal with only light cabinet rub on the high points and a few wispy hairlines in the fields, original red mint luster around the rims.
