MEXICO, Mexico City, gold cob 4 escudos, Philip V, assayer J, crosslet-end cross, style of 1712-13, NGC MS 63 (1715 Fleet Shipwreck Label). S-M30; KM-55.1; Cal-Type 262; Fr-7a. 13.60 grams. Perfectly round flan with full, bold, and well-centered shield (1712-13 style with bottom castle in rectangular space above central fleurs) that leaves no room for peripheral details save the mintmark and denomination IIII (reading vertically), full but off-center cross, rich gold color with purple toning on reverse, choice grade. Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
