MEXICO, Mexico City, cob ½ real, 1714 J, full date (rare). S-M22; KM-24; Cal-223. 1.58 grams. A decent shipwreck ½R is a rare occurrence anyway, but to find one like this with 100% full and bold date (due to off-center obverse) is nothing short of miraculous! The oM mintmark is also visible, and the well-centered cross is nearly full, but all a bit corroded. From the Corrigan's site, recovered in 1992, with photo-certificate from the finder (Buddy Martin). Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
