MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales embedded in a large clump of coral and debris, probably Philip IV, assayer not visible. 165.35 grams total. Roughly 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 2". Large chunk of white coral (basically a part of the Silver Bank reef!) with coin about 80% embedded, apparently solid and uncorroded but with much flatness as made, the exposed part (shield side) cleaned and showing a distinct canvas imprint from its original containing bag, quite a nice display for just one coin. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his Concepción contract with the Dominican Republic and accompanied by the July 1996 issue of National Geographic signed by Captain Tracy Bowden on his article "Gleaning Treasure from the Silver Bank." Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
