MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales "biscuit" (encrusted as found), probably Charles II, assayer not visible. 34.85 grams total. Squarish cob completely cocooned in thickly dark encrustation impregnated with small shell bits. Pedigreed to the Steve Valentine Collection, with original certificate from the salvor/conservator. Recovered from: Het Huis te Cruyenstein, sunk in 1698 off South Africa
