MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip V, assayer not visible, embedded in clump of coral and debris and accompanied by three small bronze nails, one partial bronze spike, and a lead musketball as all purchased together from Real Eight in 1970. 108.60 grams total. clump is roughly 1½" x 1¼"x ¾"; nails are 1¼" to 2¼" long; shot is ½" in diameter. Somewhat rare from this wreck as an uncleaned coin thickly encrusted with mostly gray debris, the coin itself dark and eroded but identifiable, even more interesting as packaged with small items from the Fleet per the accompanying Real Eight invoice. With original Real Eight Co. certificates and 1970 purchase invoice from the Museum of Sunken Treasure in Cape Canaveral. Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
