MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip V, assayer not visible (J), style of 1714-24, with Madura Island (Sumenep, Indonesia) flower countermark (1 real batu, ca. 1814) and two other marks from Southeast Asia, ex-Hubbard. KM-197; host: S-M22; KM-47; Cal-Type 170. 26.59 grams. Thick flan, only VG but evenly struck and worn with nearly full shield and cross visible, the latter with three very distinct countermarks, lightly toned all over. Pedigreed to the Clyde Hubbard Collection, with his tag, and to the Ponterio auction of May 1988, with original lot-tag 219.
