MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip V, assayer not visible (J), style of 1713-14, ex-Ullian. S-M22; KM-47; Cal-Type 170. 25.97 grams. Very odd, long, wedge-shaped flan with off-center strike rendering lots of extra metal past the full king's ordinal V, somewhat weak partial cross and shield with just enough detail to date it after 1712 and before 1715, unevenly toned all over, no corrosion. With Real Eight Co. certificate signed by Lou Ullian. Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
