MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip V, assayer not visible (J), encrusted with reverse impression of another coin (as found). S-M22; KM-47; Cal-Type 170. 28.81 grams total. Thick, odd-shaped flan with most of cross despite corrosion and light encrustation on that side (dark), the shield side completely covered by white and gray crust bearing the reverse impression of the cross-lions-castles of another coin, fascinating thus. Recovered from: Spanish 1715 Fleet, sunk off the east coast of Florida
