MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer P, ex-Horner. S-M19; KM-45; Cal-Type 319. 25.76 grams. Oblong flan with good full cross (slightly doubled) and nearly full shield with bold oMP to left, much peripheral flatness but practically no corrosion, very smooth surfaces with toning in crevices, lots of very small edge-splits, overall much better quality than normally seen for this popular wreck. Pedigreed to the Dave Horner Collection and Sedwick Auction 20, with original lot-tag 450. Recovered from: “Jupiter Wreck” (San Miguel Arcángel), sunk in 1659 off the east coast of Florida
