MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer P, ex-Concepción (1641), mounted cross-side out in 14K gold-wire pendant with fixed bail. 36.07 grams. Can be worn either cross side out (coin is rotated 90 degrees on this side) or shield side out, a solid piece with silvery, sea-washed surfaces though still possessing a bold mintmark, assayer, and some shield and cross detail, securely mounted in a square-wire gold bezel that follows the contour of the coin beautifully, large teardrop bail at top. From the Concepción (1641), with original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic.
