MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer D. S-M18a; KM-45; Cal-Type 319. 25.04 grams. Very crude flan (as made) with much uneven edge but no corrosion, the oMD full (possibly D/F) and the cross and shield both full but partially flat, as are the peripheries, attractively toned all over. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his Concepción contract with the Dominican Republic. Recovered from: Concepción, sunk in 1641 off Hispaniola
