MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer D (late 1620s). S-M18a; KM-45; Cal-Type 319. 25.98 grams. Smooth surfaces (no corrosion) but somewhat weakly struck and flat in peripheries, still with full shield and cross and bold full oMD, nicely toned. With original certificate from Captain Tracy Bowden through his contract with the Dominican Republic.
