MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer D, ex-"Lucayan Beach Wreck" (ca. 1628), mounted cross-side out in antique (1960s) silver pendant with chain (clasp missing). 51.96 grams total. Bold cross with clear castles-and-lions detail, nearly complete shield, the assayer just visible amid a little saltwater corrosion, otherwise quite nice and solid, mounted upside down in a vintage pendant setting with flourishes, RW hallmark and a few symbols on the edge, just needing a replacement clasp and then it is ready to wear!. From the "Lucayan Beach Wreck" (ca. 1628), housed in original Spink box with small certificate.
