MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, assayer D, ex-"Lucayan Beach Wreck" (ca. 1628), mounted shield-side out in fancy silver bezel and chain from the 1960s. 60 grams total. Popular shipwreck coin mounted in a fancy pendant setting with a nearly complete (if a little off-center) cross facing outward, polished shield side with clear mintmark and assayer along with part of the date (possibly 1627/6 but not certain), thick scratch and spot of encrustation there as well, desirable as accompanied by its Spink box and certificate. From the "Lucayan Beach Wreck (ca. 1628), with original clamshell box and small certificate from Spink (1960s).
